Well, January 2021 brings another lockdown, and our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the pandemic. We are wishing the NHS and all those involved with the vaccination programme the very best of JackSpeak luck with the rollout. We sincerely hope we will be back to some kind of normality soon. It will be fabulous when the day finally comes that we can say we have sent COVID on its way. And jolly good riddance to it.
We hope your festive season has been shipshape and Bristol fashion. It has certainly been a quiet one for many. But here at JackSpeak HQ we have been really busy: sourcing new stock, tidying and closing our shop in Dartmouth temporarily, as well as processing all of our lovely customer’s orders. We have also loved receiving your photos during lockdown and the local tiering. They have certainly cheered us up. It has certainly been a year where we have had to batten down the hatches. From the bushfires in Australia, to the UK leaving the European Union, to the US Presidential election, 2020 has been epic. If we can get out on the water again, enjoying the warmer weather, and the beautiful part of the world in which we live, we will be happy.
We have also been thinking about UK charities who are struggling to fundraise in the current climate. It is extremely difficult for them all with many events and activities cancelled due to the virus.
We are delighted to be able to help our favoured charity the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity in our own small way. The RNRMC, the Royal Navy’s national charity, provide such fantastic support to all Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel and families who are struggling, whether through transition, times of need or care in old age; they are always there to help. The Royal Navy is the UK's naval warfare force. Although warships were used by English and Scottish kings from the early medieval period, the first major maritime engagements were fought in the Hundred Years' War against the Kingdom of France. The Corps of Royal Marines, the infantry land fighting element of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy, was formed as part of the Naval Service in 1755. However, it can trace its origins back as far as 1664, when English soldiers first went to sea to fight the Dutch. Based in Dartmouth, Devon, the home of the Britannia Royal Naval College, Jack Speak is a clothing brand that takes inspiration from its surroundings. We donate 10% of sales from many of our clothing range to this very worthy charity. So every time you buy a charitable piece of JackSpeak apparel, you are helping our servicemen and women. We hope you will continue to support us, so we can in turn support them.
So fingers and everything crossed for a better year, thank you all for your support, and we wish you every happiness in the current year. Oh and at the moment we are offering 2 of our classic and original quality Jack Speak T’s for just £40, hopefully this will make you smile! Plus if you spend over £50, postage is free!
We wish calm seas and safe harbours to you all.
